- The anonymous aspect of chat rooms can allow pedophiles to interact with people and cause harm.
- The short and abbreviated nature of responses and messages on chat rooms provides little time for reflection or can create misunderstanding between users. This added with the inability to display body language, could mean you could hurt peoples feelings on the chat room without you even knowing you have done so.
- Due to the anonymous aspect of chat rooms some people believe they can act any way they want. Girls in particular may receive crude or sexual comments.
